The S&P 500 is an unmanaged index of 500 widely held stocks that is generally considered representative of the U.S. stock market. The NASDAQ Composite covers 4500 stocks traded over the counter. It represents many small composite index company stocks but is heavily influenced by about 100 of the largest NASDAQ stocks. It is a value weighted index calculated on price change only and does not include income. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Total Return covers 30 major NYSE industrial companies. The Dow represents about 25% of the NYSE market capitalization and less than 2% of NYSE issues. It is a priced-weighted arithmetic average, with the divisor adjusted for stock splits. The MSCI EAFE index and the MSCI Emerging Markets index are unmanaged indexes compiled by Morgan Stanley Capital International that are generally considered representative of the developed international stock market, respectively. International securities involve additional risks including currency fluctuations, differing financial accounting standards, and possible political and economic volatility, and may not be suitable for all investors. Investing in emerging markets can be riskier than investing in well-established foreign markets. Investing in small cap stocks generally involves greater risks, and therefore, may not be appropriate for every investor. The Russell 1000 Growth Index represents a segment of the Russell 1000 index with a greater-than-average growth orientation. Companies in this index have higher price-to-book and price-earnings ratios, lower dividend yields and higher forecasted growth values. This Index includes the effects of reinvested dividends. The S&P Midcap 400 Index is a measurement of changes in 400 domestic stocks chosen by capitalization, liquidity, and industry group representation. It is a capitalization weighted index, with each stock's weight proportional to its market value. This Index includes the effects of reinvested dividends. The S&P 600 Index is a capitalization weighted index (stock price times the number of share outstanding) comprised of 600 stocks chosen for market size, liquidity (bid-ask spread, ownership, share turnover, and number of no trade days), and industry group representation. The S&P600 Index is constructed to represent a broad range of industry segments in the U.S. economy and targets companies which are viewed as having relatively small market capitalizations. The S&P 600 represents approximately 3% of US Equities. The S&P 500 Equal Weight Index (EWI) is the equal-weight version of the widely-used S&P 500. The index includes the same constituents as the capitalization weighted S&P 500, but each company in the S&P 500 EWI is allocated a fixed weight - or 0.2% of the index total at each quarterly rebalance. The Russell 1000 Value Index represents a segment of the Russell 1000 index with a less-than-average growth orientation. Companies in this index have low price-to-book and price-earnings ratios, higher dividend yields and lower forecasted growth values. This Index includes the effects of reinvested dividends. The Bloomberg Barclays Capital U.S. Intermediate Government/Credit Bond Index measures the performance of U.S. Dollar denominated U.S. Treasuries, government-related and investment grade U.S. corporate securities that have a remaining maturity of greater than one year and less than ten years. Inclusion of these indexes is for illustrative purposes only. Keep in mind that individuals cannot invest directly in any index and index performance does not include transaction costs or other fees, which will affect actual investment performance. Individual investor’s results will vary.
